This training manual is easily viewed online for associates who need information at their fingertips or printed for trainers to conduct in-person training.

Audience: In-person Trainer and In-Store Sales Associates

Responsibilities: Instructional Design, Visual Design

Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop, Google Slides

The Problem

ABC Cellular has new employees starting each month across the country. A corporate Trainer conducts a live training as part of onboarding but did not have a detailed manual to guide them through the training session. Not all locations have a corporate trainer available so some new employees had no training materials to learn the brand products independently.

The Solution

We created a document with comprehensive training on the brand products, offerings, and policies. Brand colors are used throughout the manual along with infographics to help employees retain the information. This document is not only printable for live training but also an interactive online tool allowing the learner to jump to certain pages, search for information, and click live links.

The Process

After gathering all the information from the Subject Matter Expert (SME), we organized the content into a logical order. We then designed the look of the manual including infographics before developing the final project in Google Slides.

Visual Mockups

Consistency in style and easily readable fonts are important for learners to intake information effectively. Infographics are also a great tool in learning so they were used often in this project.

Full Development

The manual was developed in Google Slides which allowed for easy collaboration with the SME and visual design. This also enables the learners to view the manual easily online and the corporate trainers to present the slides during
in-person training.

Results & Takeaways

Now that ABC Cellular has a training manual, there is consistency in what new hires learn during onboarding. There are smaller knowledge gaps and employees have access to extensive information when they need it.
